Character of the week #5. Jolly Olly Octopus

This is a cheery, cooling, underwater choice for summer. Jolly Olly can't stop laughing and all the sea creatures just have to join in. I just couldn't decide what colour to paint Jolly Olly to start with;
But I was pleased with the yellow- you can't get any jollier than yellow and I think an octopus has the amazing ability to change into whatever colour it wants. Jolly Olly can, anyway.
I decided to give Olly a pet starfish, who usually rides in his sailor hat.
It's a counting book with an ever increasing cast of interesting sea creatures, from nautilus and sand eels to turtles and dolphins. When danger threatens Olly saves the day by doing a daft caper. If you haven't seen it before, this is what a capering octopus looks like;

And it all ends in a spectacular Busby Berkeley guffaw of a finale. In this spread you have to find one octopus, two turtles, three sea horses, five lobsters, five flat fish,six sand eels, seven sea lions, eight oysters, nine naughty nautilus and ten dolphins (oh,and a shark).

In the book there's also a clown fish (Nemo) to find on every spread.
Happy fishing!
